We are travelers Heading to the Keys after X-mas and looking for work.

The love of my life, our puppy and I are heading to the keys just after X-mas in our 70 VW bus. We are looking to spend new years down there and a couple of months afterwards. We are looking to pick up work that would keep us fed and maybe a place to park our bus/home. We have all sorts of job experience in different fields including bartending, serving, secretarial, labor and much more. We are hoping to find a bar that needs help over this holiday season. We can be down as soon as Dec. 27th and stay for as long as needed.

If any of you need help or know anybody that does please let us know. Or if you have an idea of bars we should check into or anything else please let us know. Get the word out that we are looking. Thanks. We look forward to our first trip and stay in the Keys. See all you crazy Key tribers then.

It is one of My favorite Places...
Party town for sure...
Everyone comes out and watches the sunset....
Water looks Purple as it sets...very Cool..
Then off to Capt Tony's for a drink or 2 or 3...Lots of History there...
and the Diving....the Best... don't even need tanks...water is shallow enough to just snorkel around most of the day... Many kinds of Beautiful Friendly fish..
I have a friend who runs a drop zone on sugarloaf key too...
Skydiving and Beautiful Aerial Pics of the whole Carribean...GREAT Stuff..
Love it there...

Just got back from Key West

Ahhhhh-- Just got back from a glorious long weekend in Key West and had a BLAST-- funny, I never made it to Hogs Breath or Sloppy Joes. On Saturday we had a bar crawl (posted the map on this tribe). We all wore Martyparty lime green tshirts and roamed the streets going bar to bar. By the end, the whole city knew who we were. We hung out at the Sands a bunch at the Tiki bar with the clothing optional little stretch of beach and the worlds best tropical cocktails made with fresh squeezed juices. Went to the Garden of Eden at some point-- pretty crazy stuff there........ I'll write more later. Gonna go have some sweet key west dreams now. You can check out my profile pics for more.

Close Call

WOw that was a very close call for K.W. With Ivan.. I was on the phone constantly leading up to that one with friends and family down there.. Give thanks for protection..... The island could have been leveled.. So many people evacuated... But all seems to be back in order now....

Dry Tortugas Islands are the real beauty

I liked the town itself in Key West, but the boat trip to the Dry Tortugas Islands was what really left an impression on me, ok the sun felt like it was burning through my skin and the barracudas in the water scared me as a novice snorkeler, but there are times especially here in cloudy Vienna Austria that I really dream of being there again- espcially for the conch I ate there mmmmmm. My goal is to make it to the Caribbean, yet Key West did serve to give me a taste and if given the chance I would just maybe live there in fact or on one of the other lower keys...

What's the deal on this. Hawaii also claims this.
Per the State of Hawaii web site the southernmost point of the U.S. is Ka Lae (South Point) on the island of Hawaii.

I've never been there, though I've been told by many that it's the place to go.

I'm particularly interested in the lighthouses nearby, and the sea-shuttle to the Dry Tortugas. Anyone have some helpful info on how I can visit, where I can stay and when the best time is to access the Tortugas?
